About Us

Founded in 2012, Soma Wellness is composed of a team of experienced healthcare professionals.

Our Mission is Twofold

The Medical Nutrition Therapy team at Soma Wellness is composed of a core group of Licensed Dietitians who specialize in the nutrition management of chronic diseases, specifically Chronic Kidney Disease and Type I, Type II, and Gestational Diabetes. The team also specializes in the nutrition management of hypertension, coronary artery disease, high cholesterol & triglycerides, obesity, disorders of the kidney, and cancer. Our mission is to arm you with the detailed information you need to make good decisions regarding your food and fluid choices. Together, we will develop a personalized plan to help you get you back on the path towards wellness.

For those we serve seeking Massage Therapy,  our mission is to provide you with customized and therapeutic bodywork that will assist you on your journey to resume or maintain wellness. Each massage will be different because each will be customized just for you to best meet your needs for that session. For most people, we will usually employ Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques for the foundation of your massage. Based on your body’s special needs, we may also incorporate specialized techniques such as Myofascial Release, CranioSacral Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, Reflexology, or Reiki into your treatment.


Meet Our Staff

Jane Snyder

Jane Snyder RD, CSR, LD, LMT- Owner, Dietitian, Massage Therapist.

Jane studied nutrition at Ohio University where she graduated with honors in 1994. She completed her post-baccalaureate dietetic internship at West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV. While working in Louisville, KY, Jane was nominated by her peers and awarded Emerging Dietetic Leader in 2004 and Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in 2005. In order to pursue her interest in massage and bodywork, Jane picked up and moved across the country to attend the Northern Arizona Massage Therapy Institute, graduating in 2007. Jane chose this program because it combined Western medical science with Eastern healing arts.

After returning to Ohio and drawing on all of her experiences from across the country, Jane opened Soma Wellness in 2012 to serve the needs of the Cincinnati community. Jane has extensive medical knowledge and experience in management of chronic disease, pain, and injury. Jane became a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition in 2016. She is a National Kidney Foundation volunteer and currently serves as Treasurer on the Board for the Cincinnati-Dayton Council on Renal Nutrition. She will work directly with your physician when appropriate. Jane will apply her skills to your unique situation and customize a care plan especially for you.

Jennifer Catron

Jennifer Catron, RD, LD, CDE

Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with over 15 years of experience in the field of dietetics. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of science in dietetics in 1999, Jennifer discovered a passion for diabetes education and became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2004. She also holds a certificate in adult weight management. Jennifer enjoys collaborating with clients and guiding them to establish S.M.A.R.T goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely). She has worked with many clients over the years that are living with type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes, elevated cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, obesity, congestive heart failure, and other medical conditions that benefit from medical nutrition therapy. Jennifer will provide you with the skills and tools, customized to your lifestyle, that will empower you to enhance your overall health and well-being.

Virginia Weale

Virginia W. Weale, MS, RD, LD, CDE, CPT

Ginny was born and raised in the Cincinnati area but has lived and worked in many parts of the country. She has now returned to Cincinnati as a seasoned diabetes and nutrition educator, having worked in hospitals, endocrinology offices, private practice, long-term care and patient home settings. She is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University; she received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Dietetics and her Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Management with high honors. Ginny will work with you and your physician, as necessary, to provide ongoing personalized nutritional plans and practical educational experiences based on your needs. She understands how diseases, especially diabetes, can affect a person's life and is comfortable working with clients to help them manage the disease. Many clients have expressed appreciation for her down-to-earth approach and her ability to make them feel comfortable with their nutritional options and to overcome any injection and/or medication fears. Patiently helping others is her passion; she helps clients choose those small changes that lead to better health.

Megan Rader

Megan Rader, RD, LD

Megan Rader, RD, LD graduated from Ohio University and completed her dietetic internship at The Medical College of Virginia. Her career has spanned acute care hospitals and outpatient renal care. She currently works for a local dialysis center while also working with pre-dialysis patients with Chronic Kidney Disease at Soma Wellness. In addition to her renal expertise, Megan is also an expert in gluten allergy and intolerance. She has intimate knowledge and insight on how to manage Celiac Disease with proper nutrition, as the mother of a young child with Celiac. Megan enjoys the opportunity to really get to know her patients and witness how improved nutrition can make a positive impact on their quality of life. Megan’s goal with every session is to have her clients leave comfortable with the education and a plan to fit new goals into their everyday lives!

Patricia Becker

Patricia J Becker, MS, RDN, CSP, CNSC, LD

Patricia is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in providing nutrition care for all ages. Patricia holds a bachelorís degree in food and nutrition from the University of Cincinnati and a masterís degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. Patricia is a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition as well as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician. She has had a wide range of experience as a dietitian. For the past fifteen years Pat has worked as a pediatric dietitian taking care of children from conception to adulthood, specializing in pediatric undernutrition. She is a sought after speaker and author on the topic of child nutrition, including pediatric malnutrition. She is a member of the Pediatric Malnutrition Work group and Lead author of the Consensus statement for ASPEN / AND pediatric malnutrition. Patricia founded and joined forces with Soma Wellness to further her mission of helping pregnant women, parents, families, and primary care providers care for children by making sure children receive the nutrition they need to grow and be healthy. Patricia is active in the profession of nutrition and dietetics locally, nationally and internationally. She was awarded Outstanding Dietitian in 2010 by the North Carolina Dietetic Association. Patricia currently serves on the Board of the Greater Cincinnati Dietetic Association and has served as past-president of the North Carolina Dietetic Association.
